Ech wor 2 Méint um Bonnievale Project. Et wor eng immend flott Zait déi leider ze séier eriwwer gaangen as. Ech hunn mech direkt vun Ufank un wëllkomm gefillt. D'Kanner sinn super léif, an mir hunn vill zesummen gelaacht, gespillt a souzen vill zesummen. Nieft der Aarbescht mat den Kanner (bastelen, molen, spillen, Bicher abannen,...) konnt ech vill an der Kichen mathëllefen an sou hier lokal Kichen entdecken. Während menger Zait zu Bonnievale krut ech een flotten Abléck an hier Kulturen, Traditiounen, Iessen, Sproochen an alldeeglecht Liewen. Et wäert op jiddwer Fall eng Zäit bleiwen déi ech ni vergiessen wäert.

Kennen als Volontär um Bonnie People Projet matzeschaffen, war eng eemoleg Liewenserfarung, op déi ech gären an mat vill Freed zeréck kucken. 5 Méint laang, hat ech d’Méiglechkeet den Bonnie People hiren Alldag mat ze erliewen, deen vun vill Freed, Léift, Respekt, vill Laachen geprägt war. Meng Aarbécht war ganz villfälteg, vun bastelen, molen, Kanner tréischten, spillen, hin zu, an der Kichen mathëllefen, mat Jugendlechen léieren, klasséieren.
Obwuel d’Bonnie People et net ëmmer einfach hunn, maachen si dat Bescht aus hirer Situatioun an sou hunn ech ganz vill schéin Momenter mat hinnen erlieft, an deenen mir vill gelaacht hunn an an deenen vill Spaass gemaach gouf.
Ganz interessant un mengen 5 Méint zu Bonnievale war och verschidden südafrikanesch Kulturen kennen ze léieren, neit Iessen aus ze probéieren, nei Sproochen ze héieren, vun hiren Traditiounen gezielt ze kréien, hiert Doheem ze besichen an hier Denkweis probéieren ze verstoen.
Meng Weekender hunn ech oft zu Kapstadt an Ëmgéigend verbruecht an während e puer fräien Deeg hat ech och d’Méiglechkeet, op Garden Route ze fueren, wat e ganz flotten Ausgläich zu mengem Alldag an der Woch war an wat mer d’Méiglechkeet ginn huet esou vill wéi méiglech vun der Ëmgéigend ze gesinn.

The idea of volunteering came on my last year of studies in Brussels (Bachelor in special education). I was in the international class, and had the chance to hear from my colleagues about all sorts of stories from all around the world. By then I only had the chance to discover my profession in 3 European countries (Belgium/ Brussels; France/Paris and Luxembourg). That's when I started my research.
During my last year in school, I had to take a decision which way to go after my exams. I had a small idea in which direction to go on, but I wasn’t really sure about the exact topic to study. But mainly, I wanted to do something different after all the years of school and leave my books for at least one year to find out more about the world, about myself and my interests. That’s where the idea of volunteering came step by step.
I am Lucie Stolwijk, 20 years, from Luxembourg and I am busy doing my volunteering here in South Africa.
